Lia herself commented in an interview that although IA was based upon her vocal, she can sound so different to her at times. ġst Place entered production when VOCALOID3 was in place. Lia had heard of Hatsune Miku, but was unfamiliar with the VOCALOID software. Because of this, production began on IA as a way to 'stand in' as a substitute during the singer's absence.
